We just spent two weeks in the Florida Keys, actually Fiesta Keys RV Resort in Long Key Florida. It was Amazing. This park is super clean, and they have some amazing views. We were parked a few spots beyond the ocean view, but could still get a glimpse of the ocean from where we parked. With a short walk we could take in some Amazing Ocean Views, and of course the Beautiful Sunsets.
Getting There and Getting Checked In
If you have never been to the Keys, just note there are not as many places that you can pull a u-turn, especially with a bigger rig. I say this because, one, we almost missed our turn. Second. while there, when we went in the car on outings I saw a few people throw on the brakes pretty hard to turn in. Fiesta Keys RV Resort is gated and does have security. When you pull in whomever is in the guard shack will get you all the paperwork for your stay, and they will call an escort to bring you to your site. From my understanding you may not have an escort for the overnight check in. Not all campgrounds offer an escort when you pull in, this to me is a great feature. They actually showed us right where to park and helped guide us into our spot. (Yay, Me! I am very horrible with my guiding skills. We make it work, but just sayin’!)
We are members of the Thousand Trails Program, so we have been taking advantage of visiting as many Thousand Trails or Encore Parks as we possibly can. This Park, Fiesta Keys happens to be a Premium Hot Spot, so even though we are Members there is a slight up charge for this RV Resort. But if you see the breathtaking views you will know why. The charge is currently only $20 extra a night, but well worth it. If you are not currently a Thousand Trails Member, definitely check it out. So far we feel the membership is totally worth the perks. (This is my opinion, you’ll have to check for yourself.)
What To Expect
Fiesta Keys is a Beautiful Clean Park. You can see a glimpse of the ocean from almost every spot. The side that we stayed in seemed fairly new, maybe recently updated? All the sites had stone. The other side of the park, near the cabins did offer some grassy areas. They are adding some more sites, so I am excited to see what they have to offer the next time we visit. I would Love one of the ocean view sites, but believe it or not they are already booked for next year. The ocean View is amazing, especially at sunset. Luckily it wasn’t a long walk to take in the sunset.
Back to what to expect at the site. The sites are a little compact. We totally lucked out and didn’t have neighbors on our awning side so during sunny, not so windy days we were able to bring out our awning. The Prime Ocean view sites were a little more packed, and they didn’t have the privilege of having their awnings out all the way.
Where to begin on the amenities? There are so many great amenities in this park. I am sure I will miss something, but let me try to cover them. As always they do have a swimming pool that overlooks the ocean. They have a nice little beach set up with lounge chairs, and umbrellas. The beach is slightly different than most would expect, they have a ladder to go into the ocean, not a fluffy sandy beach to just gradually walk into. If you like to fish, there are several places you can fish from. For those that have a boat or jet ski, they do have a marina and boat docks. We saw a lot of boats coming and going during our stay.
This is also a great place if you like to kayak or paddle board. They even have paddle boards available to rent. I totally want to try that someday, but I have a feeling I would spend most of my day in the water. Back to if you fish, they do have a place for you to clean your catch. There is a store on the property that offers many of your necessities.
If you are hungry or need a drink, they also have a restaurant on the property. We finally got a chance to eat at Oceans305 Restaurant our last night. They offered great friendly service, and the food was good too. They offer live music on the weekend and they do offer a full bar with beer and specialty drinks.
To keep the park clean, they have on site trash removal. Every day they come by throughout the day and grab the trash from your site. (trash should be bagged).
For those of you that travel with kids, they do have an awesome park. The park is fenced in and grassy. A great safe place for the kids to run and play.
If you are a dog owner, they do have a great fenced in grassy area for your furbabies to run too. If you caught above, I mentioned spots with just stone and some that did offer grass. Well we have a dog, and we happened to get a puppy on this trip. The dogs never seemed to make it to the park, although we tried. The puppy happens to eat everything, including stones so it was kinda fun keeping them out of her mouth. (not fun at all, lol). And of course cleaning up after the pups, not as easy. But the dog park is very nice, grassy and shady.
Getaway Cabins and Motel
If you don’t have a camper, that is quite alright. Fiesta Keys RV Resort also has Cabins and an onsite Hotel (I think it is technically a motel, but I am going by what they call them on the site). The cabins on the water are super cute. They come with most everything you need to feel right at home.
Sunsets, Family and Fun
If you are looking for a great escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of life, definitely check out Fiesta Keys RV Resort. It may be just my opinion, but life is good near the ocean. This is a great place for families, with tons do. And the sunsets are Amazing!
